SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION

Carcassonne Community Center, Inc. is seeking Quotes from licensed electrical contractors for the complete rewiring of our community center located at 225 Square Dance Road Blackey KY 41804 , to ensure compliance with current National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local codes. This project will modernize electrical infrastructure for safety and increased load capacity to support current and future community usage.

SECTION 2: SCOPE OF WORK

General Description:

  • Complete removal and disposal of outdated wiring systems.

  • Installation of new wiring, outlets, switches, and panels including reinstallation of current fixtures.

  • Upgrade of the electrical service panel to support 200 amps service

  • Coordination with the local utility company/county agent(s) for any service requirements/needs/licenses/permits

  • All work must meet or exceed NEC standards and applicable state/local codes.

  • Permit procurement and final inspections must be included.

  • Work should be completed within 30 days of contract award.

Specific Tasks Include:

  1. Electrical load calculation and final design approval.

  2. Installation of dedicated circuits for HVAC, kitchen appliances, etc.

  3. GFCI and AFCI protection where required.

  4. Emergency lighting and exit sign wiring.

  5. Coordination of minimal disruption to center activities.

SECTION 3:  QUALIFICATIONS

All bidders must:

  • Be licensed and bonded to operate in the State of Kentucky.

  • Provide a minimum of 3 references for similar-sized public or nonprofit rewiring projects.

  • Have no outstanding OSHA or code violations in the past 3 years.

  • Be in good standing with the State Electrical Licensing Board.

SECTION 5: BID SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All bids must include the following:

  1. Completed Bid Form (see Section 9).

  2. Project timeline and estimated completion date.

  3. Proof of licensing, bonding, and insurance.

  4. Itemized cost breakdown (materials, labor, permits, etc.).

  5. Description of warranty for materials and workmanship.

  6. List of subcontractors, if any, and their qualifications.

  7. Signature and date by authorized company representative.

Late submissions will not be considered.

SECTION 6: SELECTION CRITERIA

Quotes will be evaluated on:

  • Cost (40%)

  • Qualifications and experience (30%)

  • Project timeline (15%)

  • Local or minority-owned business participation (5%)

  • Warranty terms and references (10%)

The lowest bid is not guaranteed to win; award will be made based on best value.

SECTION 7: CONTRACT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The successful bidder will enter into a standard services contract with Carcassonne Community Center, Inc.

  • Carcassonne Community Center reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and award the contract in the best interest of the organization.

  • Prevailing wage laws (if applicable) must be followed.

  • The bidder shall indemnify and hold harmless the Community Center, Inc from any and all claims arising from performance.

SECTION 8: INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

Contractor must carry:

  • General Liability: Minimum $1,000,000

  • Workers Compensation: As required by law

  • Auto Liability: Minimum $500,000

Proof of insurance must be submitted prior to contract signing.
